Is It Worth Appointing a Financial Adviser?
OUR FEES
AN INNOVATIVE WIN-WIN APPROACH
Percentage based fees do not link the cost of a service to the value you derive from it.
We believe that is wrong, so we have created a compelling alternative that puts you back in control.
REWARDING SIMPLICITY
The Financial Conduct Authority recently found that ongoing advice fees in the UK average 0.8% p.a.*
We believe that certain people should pay comfortably less than this, in particular:
-
People with uncomplicated finances
-
People with larger portfolios
Your fee will be calculated with reference to both advice complexity and service intensity.
Our minimum ongoing fee for our comprehensive financial planning service is currently £3,550 p.a.
Our clients have varying degrees of invested wealth, with portfolios generally (but not exclusively) in the £0.5m to £3.0m range.
You are in control of how much you pay – the more you want us to do, the more you pay, and vice versa.
It works like this:
FLEXIBILITY FROM YEAR TO YEAR
Your fee will be calculated based on the type of work you require and how long it takes to complete, rather than the value of your investments.
There will be an initial ‘get to know each other’ period and in many cases, particularly for those people who come to us for advice around a major life event such as retirement, a more intensive advice need than in subsequent years. This is reflected in our charging structure. Initial fees are personalised to each client and will be discussed and confirmed as part of the Discovery Process.
In each future year we’ll suggest a set of services to you that we believe will add value to your finances. We’ll also include suggestions about how you could simplify your finances to reduce your overall cost of investing, including savings on our own costs. After all, in year two of our relationship some of the services you require may be different, so why should you pay for all of them again?
Once you agree the scope of our services for each year, we will give you a formal quote.
You don't want any nasty surprises, therefore what you pay will only change if the work you
ask us to undertake changes substantially.

* FCA - Evaluation of the impact of the Retail Distribution Review and
the Financial Advice Market Review, December 2020
The value of your investments can go down as well as up, so you could get back less
than you invested.
